It is handmade in Uruguay by artisans working under fair trade, ethical standards. Ignes only uses leathers that are by-products of the meat industry and are from animals bred in free-range farms or South American estancias. IGNES maintains high ethical standards of production and was the winner of The Most Socially Responsible Category at the 2007 Handbag Designer Awards.
